NFL Thanksgiving TV Numbers, Randy Moss Mystery Eye Illness, Controversy With Coverage Of NCAA Volleyball, Etc | LWOS Media Podcast
Update: 2024-12-03
Description
It's a brand new edition of our Pod, as hosts T.J. Rives and Mike Gill return off the Thanksgiving weekend holiday to talk about a myriad of subjects this week in sports media. They go over
The Thanksgiving Day NFL games and the TV ratings and more. Plus, is Tom Brady loosening up some for Fox Sports' booth coverage? Also, NBC's Mike Tirico is broadcasting while injured. They explain.
Next, retired NFL star turned ESPN analyst Randy Moss revealed live on the "Sunday Countdown" show that he has an illness that is affecting his eyes and vision and has to wear sunglasses due to the bright TV lights.
There's discussion about the College Football end of the regular season and heading to championship weekend for all the conferences. Plus, what prominent national media member was advocating that Ohio St. has get rid of coach Ryan Day for repeatedly losing to Michigan, as it's more important that results in the College Football Playoff?
Finally, T.J. goes over the lack of coverage in naming the controversial San Jose St. volleyball player, Blaire Fleming, who is a biological male and is being allowed to play women's volleyball. There have been forfeits by Mountain West Conference teams in the regular season and even, last weekend in the tournament semi-final. Yet, ESPN, the Athletic and other news outlets won't say or print the name (that we just wrote) at the center of the controversy. This is, despite Fleming being an adult and on the SJSU website with a bio, named in their game notes, introduced on the P.A. at games and is part of two different massive lawsuits recently for Title IX violations and an attempted injunction by schools to keep the Spartans out of the MWC women's volleyball tourney. It's crazy and it's discussed.
It's all part of the "Last Word on Sports Media Podcast" and make sure to follow/subscribe to this feed on Apple/Spreaker/Spotify, etc.!
